Roasted Asparagus with Garlic and Olive Oil

Time: 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

1 lb (about 450g) fresh asparagus, ends trimmed
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Serves: 4 People

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature is key for getting those nice, roasted edges.

2. Prepare the Asparagus:
Wash the asparagus and dry them thoroughly. Trim off the tough bottom ends – about an inch or so from the bottom.

3. Season:
Place the asparagus on a large baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle the minced garlic over them. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Toss everything together to ensure the asparagus is evenly coated with oil and seasoning. Spread them out in a single layer on the baking sheet.

4. Roast:
Roast in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender and lightly browned. The exact cooking time can vary depending on the thickness of the asparagus spears, so adjust accordingly.

5. Serve:
Remove from the oven and, if desired, squeeze a bit of lemon juice over the top for an extra zing. Serve immediately.
