Panna Cotta

Time: 4 hour and 15 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
2 tablespoons cold water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fresh berries, fruit coulis, or caramel sauce for garnish (optional)

Serves: 4  People

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Prepare the Gelatin:
In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to soften.

2. Heat the Cream Mixture:
In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it just begins to simmer and the sugar has dissolved.

3. Dissolve the Gelatin:
Once the cream mixture is heated, remove it from the heat. Add the softened gelatin to the warm cream mixture and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.

4. Add Vanilla Extract:
Stir in the vanilla extract, ensuring it’s evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

5. Pour into Molds:
Divide the mixture evenly among serving dishes or ramekins. You can lightly grease the molds with a neutral oil before pouring in the mixture to make it easier to unmold later.

6. Chill:
Place the filled molds in the refrigerator to set for at least 4 hours or until firm. For best results, allow them to chill overnight.

7. Serve:
Once set, gently run a knife around the edge of each panna cotta to loosen it from the mold. Invert the molds onto serving plates to unmold the desserts. Alternatively, you can serve them directly in the ramekins.

8. Garnish (Optional):
Serve the panna cotta on its own or garnish with fresh berries, fruit coulis, or caramel sauce for added flavor and presentation.
